BPI team at Computer Services
I previously worked for the Business Process Improvement Team on the 4th floor of the Bell building. This team of 5 people, including myself, work mainly on imaging and workflow. I had this internship for about 2 years, and it has benefited my IT skills tremendously.
At this position, I usually focused on working with programs in Visual Basic in order to automatically index and upload documents for different departments at Temple. For example, my most recent project was to modify an existing program so that it will index student’s award letters from a dropped location, and then upload them to a web service called Xtender. This web service is used by faculty across campus to view and sort documents.
Other projects that I have worked on include updating databases in Oracle SQL developer. I also assisted new faculty members with learning how to use Xtender, and create manuals that will help them with any specific task. I loved this position, and I really enjoyed handling multiple projects dealing with different types of technology.
