AIS Mentorship Program
Oviya, Caroline, and I acting as touristy as we possibly can be.
I was so excited when I heard about the mentorship program through AIS because when I first switched into the MIS program, I felt incredibly lost. I wasn’t aware of the PRO points system and attending AIS meetings to participate in tracks. I was oblivious to all the resources Temple offered to my major until I met my mentor, Caroline Doyle! She was so sweet with helping me understand the requirements and guidelines of AIS and the MIS department. She made me feel comfortable in this major by telling me her stories from previous years and offering advice for the future. She helped me establish goals like earning as many PRO points as I can and doing well in MIS 2502, which thanks to her help, I succeeded in. In addition to her useful advice, she took me and her other mentee Oviya to Reading Terminal Market and other touristy Philly locations for a day of fun! This definitely helped me feel at home in AIS because there would now be two familiar faces at the meetings. This mentorship program has helped me stay on track this semester because with Caroline, I was able to map out my PRO point plan for upcoming semesters and talk about future classes. I’m so sad to see this program come to an end, but I am thankful for coming out of it with a better mindset and great friends like Caroline and Oviya in AIS.
