Underwriting Intern
Underwriting Intern for Lincoln Financial Group.
This internship included the role of evaluating, categorizing, and following up on essential data documents to update records for business clients. Another function included reviewing and processing 10+ renewals per day for life and disability coverage using historical data. Examples of projects included working on a multiple 1000+ lives business renewal on a merge using both companies’ census data which were successfully renewed. I also had the task of creating an end-of-year presentation about my experience which was well received.
Data Science – I learned how to efficiently present my data to my team. This relates because in this class I learned how to present data effectively.
Data and Analytics – I got hands-on experience in cleaning and extracting relevant historical data for clients’ records. This relates because I learned how to cleanse data for relevance.
Digital Systems – I understood how software and applications are used within Lincoln Financial Group. This relates because I learned the applications of information systems and digital platforms.
