Year 2
- Microeconomics – Acquired knowledge on consumer behavior and its impact on prices, margins, and trends, as well as government intervention in business.
- Legal Environment in Business – Learned the role of regional tax measures, legal factors that impact business and regulatory measures.
- Financial Accounting – Learned the importance of Fin acct because it is integral to companies of all sizes as it helps communication of information externally.
- Information Systems in Organizations – Learned the basics of big data, data storage, data processing, and its value in businesses today.
- Marketing – The basics of how to market a product or brand to consumers i.e. Targeting various market segments.
Year 3 (In Progress)
- Managerial Accounting – Currently learning how to make better business decisions using accounting information.
- Financial Management – Currently learning an overview of financial problems associated with the life cycle of a business firm. For example the time value of money, valuation of financial assets, risk and return, analysis of financial statements and capital structure to name a few.
- Data Analytics – Currently learning ER modeling, SQL (basic and advanced queries), NoSQL (basic and advanced queries), ETL using Tableau Prep, Working with R, decision trees, clustering and association rules.
- Data-Centric Application Development – Currently learning HTML, CSS, and Boostrap. Learning how to apply all three in tandem to create or better serve businesses online presence.
- Risk Management – Currently learning the basic aspects of risk and risk management as they apply to firms and individuals. An overview of how individuals, firms and society finance losses from random events. Lastly, individual economic security issues including employee benefits, health care, and retirement plans.
