IT/CYBER SECURITY TEAM INTERN
- Job Title – Company: I was a Intern for Kampi Components Co., Inc. I was a “IT/CYBER SECURITY TEAM INTERN”.
- Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks) My job was to attend meetings with the U.S. Government and U.S. Military. They gave us specific functions and standards that we had to implement within the company I worked for. My overall role was an aide to the Cyber Security team. I was assigned on any projects that they needed help with or projects that needed more hands on aspect.
- Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished) Some of the projects I worked on while I was there was, updating the company computers with two-factor authentication, implementing a badge clearance program for the employees, updated their website, I did a lot of coding for their main system usability. I worked on implementing a password keeper, and following the standard that the Military has imposed on the company. The standard is NIST 800-171, so my over all projects was working on that and helping them implementing that standard.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses). From this experience I learned many aspects of the MIS world and what the jobs can lead to. It relates to my major because it was specific to java script coding, cloud architecture, and the overall aspect of Information Systems within a company.
