Data Entry Intern
Those Guys Services LLC. is a construction company that has clients all of over the U.S., mainly on the East Coast. The company consists of 7 employees (which included me). They are located in Collegeville, Pa. I was directly employed for the data entry and IT department.
As previously stated, I was the data entry employee. I entered all their contracts and clients information in a database. The database they used was called MySQL. I was brought onto the team because I had qualifications and experience with the program through MIS classes. I would enter clients numbers, personal information, cost of project, cost analysis, pictures into the data base daily. Before my time was up at this internship, I was able to meet with consulting companies to get their own website and It department up and running.
The job relates to my major by using a data entry database that we have used in MIS courses. It also relates to my major by being the IT department within the company, by starting to get their website launched and getting their emails set up. The courses that helped me get this job was MIS 2502 and MIS 3402. These courses directly dealt with MySQL. With the consulting and getting started building the website, the course that helped me was MIS 3506.
