Programmer/Analyst at The Forerunner Group
On May 19, 2015, I was hired as an Independent Contractor to work for The Forerunner Group, when I first started I didn’t know much about what I would be doing and how much I would learn, quickly. From my experience at The Forerunner Group, I’ve learned the ever changing world of technology first hand. I’ve learned so much pertinent IT information as well, truly a great experience. The background of The Forerunner Group is basically that it is a consulting company that offers solutions that could be widely ranged. One project may be calculating how much a major chemical company spends on each chemical a year and how much they profit, while the next project could be optimization for Hospitals of a large association. Primarily the technologies I used were: Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Lightswitch, Internet Information Services(IIS), SQL Server Reporting Services, and others. My role was to build the needs of the clients, most of this was done with SQL Server and Lightswitch to build HTML5 applications for publishing. In my time there, I worked as the main consultant on a Hospital Optimization project which is still being used today. I received incredible feedback from this project all around.
On April 1, 2016, I received and accepted an offer for RXTransparent which is a child company of The Forerunner Group. The background of RXTransparent is all about this act that the Obama administration put into effect about a year ago. At the company, we built a full HTML5 data driven application that is a compliance for the Drug Supply Chain Security act. (DSCSA) My role at the company is to build the applications for clients and have them published on the web. I worked directly under the Director of Technical Operations in the company and I am responsible for creating reports using Sql Server Reporting Services. I am also responsible for building the app through Microsoft Visual Studio and we used Lightswitch primarily to create the app. In addition to that I had to write many triggers and stored procedures in order for the data to get where we needed it to be, we did all of the in Microsoft Sql Server. From there in order to get the apps published we just took the package that visual studio creates and then I had to configure a website through Internet Information Services (IIS) where it is published under the company’s website along with the clients name. My primary responsibility is to have the apps ready for every client that needs it, I do a lot of the behind the scenes action.
