Mapping and Data Visualization with Python
This activity was sponsored by Felipe Valdez and went over the basics of mapping with Python. Leafmap is a package used with Python that can be used for mapping. It requires little coding and is able to create Cloud Optimized GeoTIFFS, split-panel comparison, WMS tile services, STAC catalog access, and linked multi-panel maps. The activity also went over Folium, a Python library for interactive mapping. This activity gave me a better idea of what Python is capable of, which will help in future classes that use it.
