Audit Intern
As an intern at EY in the Philadelphia office, a large accounting firm, I worked in assurance in core audit. I was put on an engagement team which audited the financial statements of a large company. I helped my team perform audit services for our client and identify potential audit issues. Some of the tasks included updating excel and PDF documents for the new quarter and making sure balances tie out. I also had the opportunity to improve my technical skills by taking online courses and earning a badge. I took courses in data analytics and received a data integration badge. I learned what they day to day tasks and duties of auditors are and how they contribute to the audit of public companies. Most of the stuff I learned in this internship relates to the audit class I took where I learned about potential control deficiencies in companies and I worked with those during the internship.
