Internship

During summer of 2014, I had the opportunity to intern at Housing and Urban Development, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. The mission of FHEO is to create equal opportunities for housing for everyone in the United States by regulating laws that prohibit discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, and familial status. This government agency helps people: that have been refused housing, wrongfully refused a mortgage, have different loan terms applied to them, or undergo different setbacks in housings. FHEO intakes about 1400 claims a year, and FHEO tries to bring justice to people to the best of their capability.

This internship has also greatly increasing my knowledge of constructing analytical research, finding correlations with data, and have a better understanding of the between of supply and demand. I worked on a project for the Maryland area- researching census data. I enjoyed finding patterns within the data and making the information useful. The development of my analytical skills will be an asset for my untitledfuture career. With my research skills I could help make predictions concerning what people want from a certain business. In the end, this internship has been great experience for me.
