Student CEO

As the Student C.E.O of Saxbys at Temple University, I was managing a café full-time. I led a team of over 30 students, managed the cafe’s financials, and assisted in campus wide marketing campaigns. This role was different from other leadership positions I have held and demanded quick thinking, creativity, and grit. My growth as a leader has been emphasized through my ability to nurture my team of 30 students as a whole, while still focusing on individual performances. I put together 4 meaningful, but fun team meetings where we could bond and grow as a team! I learned to step up and have difficult conversations, delegate tasks, and hold my members accountable. I onboarded and trained 5 members, and promoted 6 members to the highest level, including the Fall 2025 Student C.E.O. On a daily and weekly basis, I tracked inventory and managed COGS, staying under budget. I learned how I could manage COGS in real time by adjusting ordering and prep PARS and reducing waste. Even with new competitors moving in, I still made a profit by managing costs that I could control and ended up beating my budgeted NOI of 13.52% and came in at 20.29%. While leading my café, I also focused on building a strong bond with the Temple community. I managed the Student Vice President of Campus Marketing, who led all of our events and partnerships. During my term, we organized 5 campus activations, 17 campus placements, 2 influencer partnerships, and 34 promotion cards were redeemed. Saxbys attended the Temple University Bike tour where they toured from main campus to ambler campus. We donated cold brew, hot coffee, and pastries for the cyclists while spreading awareness about Saxbys! Temple News also came to do a segment on us which was a great opportunity to talk about the S.C.E.O. role.
