MALV Volunteering
Last summer I volunteered at my local mosque (MALV) and helped provide dinner to those in need. This event required us to cook, package and hand out food. We also had to set up an area for everyone to eat at. I helped out in areas that I could and I also helped the supervisor set up a spreadsheet to help him keep the volunteers organized. This spreadsheet was shared with everyone and allowed the supervisor to see everyone’s availability and schedule accordingly. This also allowed for all the volunteers to see which time they were scheduled to come in and what tasks they had to complete. This was a very good experience for me and helped me understand what goes into planning an event like this. It was also a great way for me to give back to the community.
