Career Objectives
I decided to choose Human Resources as my major not only because of my classes and professors at Temple, but because of a prior job. I worked at Jules Thin Crust Pizza and had a very efficient management team. I felt like an extremely valued employee, and was never unhappy with my job. I was trained very thoroughly, and because of various staff meetings and management strategies I was fascinated with responsibilities of managers. Through my classes and my own personal experiences, I realized how crucial a management team is to a company. I hope to contribute to a well-organized, effective, and respected Human Resources Management team one day. I am also apart of Temple SHRM, which has furthermore inspired my HR dreams. I would like to see myself working at a very large company, so I will be challenged to work my way up the ladder. I am most interested in the recruiting, hiring, and training part of HR. I recently declared my minor in MIS in hopes that it will provide me with the ability to apply Information Technology to my HR major. I am looking forward to my internship in the Fall of 2014 where I will be working under a mentor at District 1199C. During this internship, I will be helping write training plans for new hires, developing online courses for new hires, and helping with career fairs. I hope this experience will either solidify my interest in the hiring aspect, or lead me to another part of HR.
