Cigna Internship Point Submission

Over the summer I lived and worked up in Bloomfield Connecticut for Cigna. Over the course of the summer, I worked under Andrew Ehle in Quality Engineering. Additionally, all of the interns participated in the summer intern project.

For my role work, I was working as a developer for testing and automation. My general day-to-day work included developing scripts to automatically install desired software for various teams. I utilized various technologies including Windows Powershell, Ansible, DevTest and more. Additionally, I helped work with other teams to gather requirements and develop scripts for their specific needs.

When I wasn’t doing my role work, I was working with my intern project team to complete our summer project. Our topic was Melanoma prevention so our team developed an application to help spread awareness to users about the dangers of melanoma, educate users about the current UV index in their current location (as well as the weather), and to give users a platform to track moles on various locations on their body. While I would have liked to actually develop the application, I was tasked with working on the business oriented goals as well as the presentation due to the fact that we had 8 other developers and MIS requires a business background. Our team presented on the last day of the semester and we won the award for best presentation after a panel of judges (including the Cigna global CIO) viewed ours and 10+ other presentations.
