AIS Mentorship Program

Spring 2021

Through participating in fruitful activities such as setting long-term and short-term goals, applying for the AIS Scholarship, picking classes for next semester, conducting a Mock Interview, and lastly attending a coffee chat, I further developed my critical thinking. I also gained useful tools that I will be using for achieving my academic goals and outcomes at Temple as well as in the business world post-graduation. My mentor’s guidance and advice helped me sign up for new opportunities (e.g., applying for AIS Scholarship) and develop my professional profile (e.g., improving my resume). I am thankful for my mentor’s useful advice, encouragement, and help throughout the spring semester, and enjoyed taking part in the mentorship program.

Fall 2020

Through participating in diverse activities such as editing resumes, researching and applying for internships, and lastly constructing an updated PRO point table for the MIS requirement, I improved my time management skills. My mentor’s guidance and constant support have encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and sign up for new opportunities. For instance, after expressing my interest in being an ITA for an MIS course, my mentor, Brad McGowan, has provided me with valuable information about the position and has encouraged me to follow through. Ultimately, I got the ITA position for MIS 2101, starting this spring semester. I am grateful for my mentor’s positive feedback, encouragement, and support throughout the semester, and enjoyed taking part in the mentorship program.
