Career Objectives
I have many objectives I would like to accomplish during my career. I am interested in finding a career that I am passionate about. I want to wake up in the morning and enjoy what I do for a living. I am looking to pursue a career in either marketing or finance. I chose to double major in marketing and finance because I like different aspects about each of them.
I like marketing because I find the marketing process very interesting. I particularly enjoy analyzing buyer behavior and purchasing decisions. I just took a Consumer and Buyer Behavior class which taught me a lot about consumer psychology. I could see myself pursuing a career in that aspect of marketing.
I like finance because I have a fascination with investments on a firm and personal level. In my finance classes, I have learned the different internal and external financing methods firms use to continually grow and increase cash flows. On more of a micro level, I find personal investing very interesting. I participated in a mock-trading game in my Investments class where our objective was to use our 1 million dollar allocation and gain the highest return possible in our 3 month trading period. I learned a lot about trading and what strategies worked and didn’t work. Recently, I joined a new game on MarketWatch where I am competing against over 30 people to obtain the highest return.
