Cashier and Dairy Associate- I worked at the Giant in Maple Glenn, PA as a cashier and dairy associate. I worked part time during the summer and every three weeks during the school year. As a cashier i learned how to properly engage with customers in a professional and personal way. I also learned how to perform efficiently, especially when the store is extremely busy. In relation to customer relations, I have experience dealing with customers that are not happy and complain. I have also worked several shifts as a dairy associate, where I learned how to properly manage my own work. I also learned how best to help customers find items and clean up messes. Finally I learned how to delegate work to others and to follow orders from a manager.
Drexel Mini-Med Camp- I attended a summer camp at Drexel’s affiliate hospital, Hanuman hospital. Through this camp I was able to shadow many medical professionals. Through this I got to experience their daily routine and what their job entails. I was also able to observe many real medical procedures and doctor-patient interactions. I learned from this experience what it takes to be a medical professional and what kind of personality traits you must have to succeed in the field.
