Portfolio Manager – The Owl Fund
During the summer of 2017, I worked as the portfolio manager for The Owl Fund, an institutional investment fund. I implemented new scripts to automatically update analysts in the fund on noteworthy information, such as quarterly and fiscal year end earnings updates. I built an application that determined proper asset allocation determined on several market based factors that the fund watched closely, which notified analysts upon a major shift in the direction of a trend.
I was also tasked with updating and reviewing our holdings. I initiated sell recommendations on companies in the portfolio that reached price target, saw a 10% decline in price, or were influenced so negatively by changing economic market conditions that it was unlikely they would reach price target. As a result of this job function, I automated updates that would let myself or another portfolio manager know that a company was close to a sell recommendation.
