IT Business Analyst Intern
I worked in a team responsible for Robotic Process Automation (RPA). I learnt the different business processes at OATS and how they were automated. I also understood why OATS was implementing RPA and all the benefits it provided for process improvement. Additionally, I understood how OATS prepares Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements and Financial reports according to Schedule III, Company’s Act 2013. I helped prepare MIS reports from the ledger transactions for some of their clients. I could see the real world application of finance and software concepts I had learnt in my courses at Temple. In particular the balance sheet and PL statements we learnt in Financial Management and Managerial Accounts helped me understand how to feed correct data to generate MIS reports.
Information Systems (MIS) Majors use a combination of business and technology in their day-to-day work. At OATS I worked on some projects in the IT department as well as in accounting area. More so I got to see how RPA is used to increase efficiency in accounting systems. Overall it was a productive summer and I enjoyed the opportunity a lot! Further the guest lectures I attended on Cyber Security and Cash Management related to USD-INR fluctuations gave me an insight factors affecting global business.
