Technology Risk Assurance Intern
I spent my summer at EY as a Technology Risk Assurance Intern in Philadelphia. I’ve participated in intensive training courses focused on data visualization tools, data analytics, and IT auditing. I’ve met some incredible people around the office, attended company social activities, gained knowledge from hands-on work that is rare to find in academic courses, and have made some amazing friends along the way.
I was fortunate enough to work on two clients throughout the duration of the internship, allowing me to become more exposed into the IT Audit work. Here as an intern, I assisted team management with project planning, documenting audit walkthrough and testing results, as well as finalizing client deliverables . This was an incredible experience, getting hands-on work and making real contributions for the businesses/clients. Throughout this internship, I was concerned about whether or not my MIS degree would be applicable to the job. As I progressed, I quickly realized that my academic background in Management Information Systems was not only relevant but crucial to understanding the complexities of IT environments and the nuances of audit processes. The knowledge I gained from my studies allowed me to effectively analyze systems, assess risks, and contribute valuable insights during audits.
