Political Science Research
- Job function (e.g., overall role, assigned tasks): My overall role was as a research assistant for Professor David Nickerson in the Political Science Department. I worked in/out of the office with gathering statistics on voter registration on all 50 states of America. With all that collected information and data I had transferred it onto Microsoft Excel. Most of my research was mostly all transferred onto Excel with comparing, contrasting the data from one state to another.
- Examples of projects (e.g., list the projects you worked on and what you accomplished): The projects I worked on as I explained above, all consisted of putting the data onto Microsoft Excel. Each week there was a new task to call the State and to collect information of Voter Registration and then transferring that information onto Excel which composed of many different and various projects.
- What you learned and how it relates to your major (e.g., describe what you learned from this experience in the context of specific courses): This taught and stregthened my skills on Microsoft Excel which my major includes on doing. I learned how to work on my own with being given very little detail and mostly collecting data and finding new ways to show the comparison and contrasts of the data.
