EDGE Associate
- Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is a global medical technology company with over 70,000 employees engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of a range of medical supplies, devices, laboratory equipment and diagnostic products. I will be working under the Technology & Global Services (TGS) division as an EDGE Associate as part of the EDGE rotational program.
- The EDGE Program is a rotational program within TGS where young professionals are empowered through immersive learning focused on technology enabled business solutions. The BD EDGE Program associates leverage best practices and new technologies while progressing through diverse rotations on a global scale. By enabling peer and executive mentorship, as well as impactful opportunities, the EDGE program encourages associates to grow professionally as they support BD in serving the global community by advancing the world of health.

- Three assignments, spread over three years, in diverse TGS areas that help provide a well-rounded foundation of technical, functional and leadership skills
- Assignments across the United States, including Franklin Lakes, New Jersey; San Diego, California; and San Antonio, TX.

- The MIS curriculum did a tremendous job of preparing me for this role. As an intern during the summer of 2020, I was tasked with leading a redesign of our TGS intranet. I used web design skills like familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JS taught in MIS 2402 (Web App. Development), user experience knowledge gained from MIS 3506 (UX Design), Power BI knowledge gained from MIS 3580 (Artificial Intelligence), and data visualization knowledge gained from MIS 2502 (Data Analytics) to create pages that were user friendly and data-driven. In addition, the skills gained in other MIS courses have prepared me for my upcoming 3 rotations as a fulltime EDGE associate at BD where I hope to undertake rotations in Automation, IT M&A, and Analytics.
