AIS Mentorship Program

Spring 2021 – Mentee

In the spring of 2021, I took part in the mentorship program for a second semester and was this time paired with Keith Robinson. Throughout our time together, Keith was able to guide me through my first semester as a fully-declared MIS student, as well as plan out the steps I should be taking to prepare myself for a successful future in the MIS field. He connected me with numerous internship opportunities and applications that I worked through in my quest to gain industry experience during my Sophomore summer. Keith’s guidance allowed me to gain confidence as an MIS major and I now feel equipped enough to become a mentor myself in the upcoming fall semester.

Fall 2020 – Mentee

Through the mentorship program, I benefited greatly from my mentor, Duke Wu, in that he was able to serve as someone to look up to and to lean on for advice and questions. His experience in the program allowed him to provide me with insightful guidance on what I should do now and in the future to best prepare for being successful both before and after graduation. Duke’s guidance was one of the major factors in my decision to declare for the MIS major. He provided me with great connections and ideas that allowed me to meet and learn from even more people within the department and even alumni. After being paired with a mentor like Duke, I have gained confidence in my future track through college, and am much better prepared to have a successful academic and professional career.
