Risk Management Major

Academic History

Learning is a passion that I enjoy feeding every day so, choosing the right schools and types of education were and still are a critical in my life. I went to grade school at St. Francis de Sales that was a small private school, which allowed for each student to receive a structured and focused education. At the end of 8 years, at my eighth grade graduation I received an award for being the most academically distinguished student in the class. I took this honor with me as I attended Salesianum, a school winning an award for being one of the top 50 catholic schools in America. The school culture was based on instilling the drive in people to achieve self-discipline and self-development by surrounding students with the tools and faculty needed. I saw it as the perfect fit for me because it gave me everything I needed to be as successful as possible, not only by giving me the tools and education but by surrounding me with students who had the same ideals. I carried top honors throughout my four years and received an award like many at my school for carry these top honors. After completing the strenuous process of trying to decide on a college and career path, I chose Temple University and the major of risk management and insurance. I chose this combination because I had family friends who were alumni of the school and the risk management program. They told me how they joined Gama Iota Sigma, a professional fraternity for risk management, and how it gave them all the tools and faculty necessary and readily available for success in my career. I thought how this sounded just like my high school and how it would be a perfect for me. They also told me about the major and from what they told me it fit everything I loved to do, like math and analytics. Since attending the school I have completely embraced what they have to offer and placing myself on the dean’s list each semester.
