Field Data Collection and Mobile GIS: Digital Tools for Research in the Field
In the Field Data Collection and Mobile GIS session sponsored by Temple University Library, I was introduced to KoboToolbox, a data collection tool. Similar to other data collection tools, users can create customized forms to collect data. However, besides collecting basic survey questions, KoboToolbox allows users to collect geographic data with participant consent. This makes it extremely useful to create real-time maps, such as precise locations of the food trucks around campus. Users can also easily convert their forms into different languages without having to recreate them.
