The cybercrime link from those behind the door (incarcerated) to those in the free world

Hosted in honor of Black History Month, this enlightening session is a collaborative effort between the CARE Lab, Black Girls Hack, and the Women in Cybersecurity (Temple Chapter). The event aimed to shed light on the complex dynamics of how incarcerated individuals may exploit technological advancements to orchestrate criminal endeavors beyond prison walls, impacting the safety and security of the free society.

Dr. Tessa Cole, an esteemed speaker in the field of cybersecurity, led the discussion, providing invaluable insights into the landscape of cybercrime perpetuated by those incarcerated. The session explored the multifaceted nature of cyber threats, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive understanding of the risks posed by digital technologies and the interconnectedness of our world.

And us participants were able thanks to this session to be equipped with knowledge about the evolving tactics employed by criminals utilizing technology and will gain an understanding of the vulnerabilities inherent in our digital era.
