Involvement
The Association for Information Systems (AIS) serves society through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. AIS is the premier professional association for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide. For the past two semesters I have been fortunate enough to be apart of this great organization.
Kappa Sigma Fraternity
Fall of freshman year I pledged the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. This gave me a great opportunity to get involved with the community. Every year we raise money and participate in the Light The Night Walk.
Light the Night Walk is The Leukemia Lymphoma society’s walk to build awareness of blood cancers as well as raise money for research and support of patients and their families. It is held in over 200 communities in North America each fall as well as in Australia.
Walkers carry illuminated lanterns of different colors. White balloons are carried by survivors, red by supporters, and gold balloons are carried by those walking in memory of a loved one they lost. In Australia, the color blue is used instead of red.
