Regional Indicators 2016 & 2017
The Institute for Public Policy & Economic Development provides data, analysis, strategy, and implementation recommendations to provide solutions to clients. They produce community-based research (Regional Indicators) and mobilize the resources of regional institutions of higher education to engage in regional research and strategy development.
Every year several keynotes speakers, contributors, and local professionals come together for a presentation of the Regional Indicators for that given year. I have been present for both the 2016 and 2017 presentations and each year the awareness and volume of participation grows.
The Regional Indicator brings together in a single document a wealth of social, environment, and economic data that contributes to building civic agendas by providing a common information base for policy makers, non-profit leaders, and civic entrepreneurs. This thought-provoking document sets a solid baseline as to where the region has been, where they are, and where they are going.
This is a very interesting conglomerate of data that any MIS professional would be interested in. The event is full of various professionals from the region who all offer different insights into the Geographic Information Systems of Northeast Pennsylvania.
