Interests and Extra-Curricular Activities
I have been a member of Temple University’s Business Honors Student Association (BHSA) since September of 2011. This organization provides opportunities for members to hear from various companies and employers and gives them the opportunity to network. The organization enhances member’s professional development through workshops. Finally BHSA, organizes many community service events in order to give back to community. I have attended BHSA’s monthly meetings, heard from various speakers, and attended community service events.
I was a member of the Honors Admissions and Transitions Team (HATT) from Spring 2012-Fall 2012. This program guides prospective Temple Honors students through the college decision-making process. I chose to be involved with this organization because Temple Honors played a huge role in why I came to Temple and I wanted to share my awesome experiences at Temple and what Temple Honors has to offer with prospective students and their families. I would have lunch with a student and his or her family, take a student to class with me, or give them a tour of my dorm and residence hall. I also talked to prospective students and their parents at Experience Temple Day.
Since gym class in elementary school I always loved playing volleyball. In middle school I played on the school team and had plans to continue playing in high school but due to scheduling conflicts during the summer and my busy work schedule I was unable to commit the time necessary to play at the high school level. However, I have been able to continue playing through Temple’s intramural volleyball program. Last year my team won the Women’s Volleyball Championship at Temple and went on to play at the City 6 tournament where the champions of other universities in the Philadelphia area come to play for the ultimate title. I love being able to continue playing a sport I love with a bunch of great friends.
I have been born and raised a Philly sports fan and there is nothing I love more than watching my favorite teams play. I would have to say that the Phillies are my favorite team with the Flyers being a close second favorite. I’ve been going to Phillies games since I was 3 and have followed the team religiously for about the past 7 years. My favorite Philly is Chase Utley, my
favorite Flyer is Claude Giroux, and my favorite Sixer is my fellow Temple Owl, Lavoy Allen. Philly sports, through its ups and downs, has been a part of my childhood, and it will always be a part of my life.
