Sales & Service Associate — Staples

  • In this position, I was charged with the sale of all Staples products. Whether it was being a cashier, selling products on the sales floor, or simply acquiring the correct information for customers to better assist them, I was always consistent in my abilities to make clients’ experiences at our store a joyful one. This position helped me obtain a strong foundation in customer service and conflict resolution.

Front Desk Assistant — University Housing and Residential Life

  • My freshman year here at Temple, I began working at the front desk of my residential building. I mainly cooperate with resident assistants, security guards and the maintenance staff of the building to help students, like myself, acclimate to their new surroundings. I also help keep track of and record mail and packages of the individuals if the building and train new employees in areas such as customer service, package conflicts, and other daily tasks.

Both of these positions have given me the opportunity to enhance skills that have prepared me for my future career. I have learned to adapt to many different situations and types of customers. Daily responsibilities in both roles included conflict resolution and problem solving abilities. Most important, I believe, I learned how to communicate with others. This will allow me to convey results and findings to peers, clients, and managers in my future endeavors in a clear and concise manner.
