Student Worker for Klein IT Department
- I provide desktop and classroom support for faculty and staff for workstations and printers, maintain inventory management for university technical equipment using, provide technical assistance for Macintosh & Windows computers and mobile devices, and install, remove, and upgrade various hardware and software
- I provide technical support on a daily basis and have assisted faculty through a change in operating system. I made sure they understood any changes, and I assisted them with any issues until they had a complete understanding of the new system.
- I have learned a lot from this job because I am constantly being challenged with new problems I have never experienced before. I learned a lot of how to fix common problems with computers, and I now have a better understanding of general IT terms and concepts, which has helped me in the course Enterprise IT Architecture when we are working with the virtual machines. Additionally, I use excel to manage the IT inventory, which has greatly improved my excel skills. This helped me in the course Data Analytics because we worked with excel frequently.
