Activity: Temple Data Analytics Challenge
What I learned: From this challenge, I learned how to apply data analytical focused skills I had learned in a previous course. While working with other team members we took a big data set and cleaned the data to ensure that it was accurate and adequate. After, we analyzed the data to find trends and useful information in the big data set to create an info-graphic. My major contribution to the project was my analysis skills and using the trends that we found to create visual representations that helped readers to easily understand the information and trends we discovered. We completed the project on time and ended up with an excellent informational info-graphic.
Activity: Creation of my ePortfolio
What I learned: Through creating my online portfolio, I learned more about basic web development. I gained further experience in designing a web page to display the information that I need displayed to the world wide web. I further honed in my organizational skills and writing skills while creating this portfolio due to the fact that potential employers will likely be browsing my portfolio. Finally, the creation of my portfolio has helped me as an MIS major to understand what kind of activities and exercises I will be doing in the professional world.
