Identity and Access Management Intern at AmerisourceBergen

About AmerisourceBergen:

AmerisourceBergen is one of the largest companies driving innovating partnerships with global manufacturers, providers, and pharmacies to increase the level of reach throughout the healthcare supply chain.  AmerisourceBergen’s success of shaping the healthcare industry has come from three aspects, which are knowledge, reach, and partnership.

My Role:

As an intern working with the IAM team, I worked on deploying a few enterprise wide applications. Prior to application deployment, I was responsible for requirement creation, test/use case creation, testing application design and functionality, and creating reports that record defects/ project progress. I was also responsible for other tasks that required me to retrieve data from various domains and then apply appropriate analysis to solve current issues.

What I learned:

I have got a feel of how the corporate world operates, the importance of communication & team work, and that individuals should never hesitate to ask questions when in doubt.

Additional skills I did and learned:

  • Managing the Service-Now ticketing system in a timely manner & creating weekly reports to all team members
  • Retrieving data by using PowerShell to query Active Directory for groups, employees and other account attributes to fulfill current business requirements
  • Validating & comparing data between different domains to ensure consistency
  • Ensuring project efficiency by using & understanding the SDLC process
  • Creating & Performing quality & functional testing for enterprise wide applications
  • Conducting cyber security threat analytics reports by using a variety of tools (Netskope, SecureWorks, Shodan, Lookingglass)
