Events
Throughout Temple University there are many events made available for us to attend to get to know new people & companies. Here are some of the events that I have attended:
1. Fox IT Career Fair 2016:
This was a great event that many different companies attended. All of the attending companies had the interest to hire MIS students for internships and full-time positions for post graduation. It was a great opportunity to getting to know and socialize with people whether current students at Temple or even employees & employers from the attending companies. Meeting with different people and collecting contact information can be very beneficial since most of us are trying to land internships and full-time positions after graduation.
2. AIS Get Together Social Event 2016:
This was AIS’s first event of the semester. It was basically an opportunity to meet new members or just to get to know current members even better. Most of the AIS student members attended along with many of the MIS’s department faculty. It was good event overall and it created the vibe that all of us students in the MIS field are more like a family.
3. Temple University Career Fair 2016:
This event was similar to the IT career fair, but contained a lot more companies and participants because employers at that event were meant for the entire Fox School, as oppose to only MIS students. It was also a great event, I got to meet many people and exchange my contact information with them. To some it may not seem very persuasive, but we all have to build our name and make it more recognizable somehow.
