Peer Teacher
I was a peer teacher for Mart Doyle’s MIS 2501 class from January 2017 – May 2017. I previously attempted to receive points for my work as a TA, but for some reason was not allowed. I spoke to Joe Allegra and Emily Repshas, and am attempting for resubmission. As a peer teacher, I attended every class for one of Mart Doyle’s 2501 classes, as well as held weekly office hours to assist with the other section. My roles throughout the semester included, but were not limited to: participating in class discussions, teaching class lectures, providing critical feedback on student exams, and assisting in the creation of exams. Throughout this semester, I learned a vast amount from Professor Doyle, specifically the need to be able to understand a concept so well that you can explain it simply and in multiple ways. This was a crucial skill for me to have during office hours because when students would come in looking for help, I would often explain a class concept in a new way, and that often helped the students’ learning experiences.
