Welcome to Enterprise Architecture for IT Auditors! My name is Paul Warner and I will be your instructor for ITACS 5122 Section 701for Fall 2018. I am very excited to be your instructor and hope we will have fun learning.
The Goal of the Course
The goal of this course is to introduce you to as much technology as possible and give you a strong foundation in key information technology components. We will cover various topics such as computer systems, how they are built, configured and function. Other areas will include designing basic network architecture, installing systems and testing. At the conclusion of this course you should have an understanding of how systems both hardware and software are audited, designed, built, function, and operate at an Enterprise level.
Teamwork
Throughout this course we will be working as a team, sharing ideas and knowledge from your area of expertise. I would for you to have an open mind and use your current experiences to explain and demonstrate IT auditing so you can relate to each area we will be discussing.
Expectation
My expectations are:
- For everyone to respect each other, to do your best, be involved and don’t be afraid to ask questions.
- Be prepared and follow directions, do not complete an assignment if you are not sure what to do.
- If you have personal challenges, kindly let me know at the beginning of class
Structure of the Course
This course fully online, please review the syllabus to make sure all relevant materials required for this course you have access to. Weekly materials will be posted starting on 8/29/2018 and thereafter every Monday at 12:00AM EST time. You will be required to complete discussion boards, weekly quizzes, hand-on activities/assignments, an Exam, Final Project and a Final Exam. As a reminder we will be using Canvas LMS for uploading of assignments, final project, quizzes and exams. We will be meeting online every Wednesday at 6:30PM via WebEx.
Communication
Announcements will be sent weekly, be sure to review the weekly announcements. We will be communicating primarily by e-mail, give at least 12-24 hours for a response. If you have an emergency and cannot send an e-mail send a text. My contact information is:
