Risk Advisory Associate
I will be joining Ernst & Young as an associate in their Advisory Consultant Program. Ernst & Young is a professional services firm and is one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. I will be working at their Philadelphia office in the Advisory Department. In my job role, I will be helping clients identify potential risks and suggesting improvements to their current systems and processes. I will be able to apply various aspects of the course material I’ve learned throughout my time as an MIS student. The knowledge I learned about technology systems and data integrity in MIS 2501 and MIS 2502 will help me to become more capable of assessing the effectiveness of the client’s current systems. Related to this, the knowledge I learned about business processes and systems thinking in MIS 3506 and MIS 4596 will give me better insight into the areas of improvements that should be made. Lastly, the project management skills I learned in MIS 3535 will be useful in managing both projects and teams in future leadership roles. Even the courses that don’t directly apply to this job role, like MIS 3501 and MIS 3502, have benefitted me by helping me to become a better problem solver and critical thinker. I am confident that all the knowledge and skills I’ve developed as a student will set me up for success in my career.
