November 2013 Syllabus with Learning Objectives/Outcomes and Readings
Courses at Temple that prepare students for Probability Exam (P)/1:
- AS 1501: Introduction to Actuarial Science;

Zilong’s Preparation for Exam P, March 2013 sitting:
1. Actex Manual – for 4 months: carefully read through the materials and completed almost every single practice problems after each section.
<Very Helpful: used the manual to self teach the last few sections of the manual, easy to understand.>
2. Coaching Actuaries during Spring break: completed 13 practice exams and reached above level 9 within 15 days.
<Very Helpful: I was able to learn the materials in a deeper level and discover more efficient ways of solving problems.>
3. Exam score: 10
<I was not surprised by this top score, as I felt the actual exam was a lot easier than the practice exams I did.>
Study Material:
- Actex Exam P Manual <For Exam P, many upperclassmen recommended Actex over ASM.>
