IT Project Management Intern
This fall, I had the opportunity to intern with the PMO team at Spencer’s and Spirit in Egg Harbor, New Jersey. In this position, I assisted Project Managers with updating project plans, supporting RAID logs, conducting research, and documenting standards. As a capstone project for my internship, I worked with the PMO admin team to develop an informational SharePoint site to support 300+ internal users with the Smartsheet work management software. On my own, I gathered requirements, designed an implementation plan, and developed a website over 5 weeks, hosting regular usability tests to ensure alignment with the intended user base. Through this project, as well as the rest of my internship, I developed technical writing skills relating to my writing-intensive Cybersecurity course, and was able to employ skills from a previous UX and Anthropological Fieldwork course by hosting usability tests.
