UX Engineer Intern
1. Job functions:
- Develop a static website using HUGO for an international tech company specializing in data analytics and intelligence software
- Host the website in S3 Bucket (AWS) to make the website more durable and easier to access
- Cooperate with team members to connect AWS Cloud search API to HUGO site to provide users with a user-friendly interface
- Design HUGO site using WordPress and Pantheon to create an appealing visual website and portal for users to access the company’s public content
2. The project that I am working on is the Nuix Portal: Public Facing. The public facing area of the Nuix Portal is a simple intuitive one stop shop for our users to access product documentation and information at any point during their workflow. My tasks so far include:
- Set up staging S3 location
- Set up HUGO in S3 location
- Set up AWS Cloudsearch on S3 Bucket
- Import sample Documents into S3 bucket
- Decide what Exported Format is best
- Connect cloudsearch to sample data
3. What I have been learning from this experience closely connected with what I learned in school. It requires the coding ability I gained from MIS 2402 – Web Application Development course and the knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the MIS 3406 – Cloud Infrastructure course. This is a valuable opportunity for me to learn and prepare myself for a career as a developer.
