AIS Mentorship Program

Reflection

Fall 2019: Mentee to Nhi Nguyen

Joining the AIS Mentorship Program was one of the most valuable experiences I’ve had since coming to Temple University. For my first semester here, I had the pleasure of having Nhi Nguyen as my mentor. Nhi is a talented and amazing person. She is thoughtful, knowledgeable, sociable, and diligent. From the beginning, she made sure that I feel welcome to this new home by showing me around the school and encouraged me to be actively involved in AIS. She also assisted me in the class registration process by creating a plan of which courses to take each semester which helped me a lot in assuring my graduation time. In addition, she gave me advice on how to win an internship for my summer. I accomplished so many wonderful things during my first semester at Temple by participating in the AIS Mentorship Program.

Spring 2020: Mentee to Diana Westerfer

In the Spring 2020 semester, I was given the opportunity of having one of the excellent leaders in the MIS community, Diana Westerfer, as my mentor. She created a PRO points plan in order to guide me down the right path and keep track of my points as well as how far I have gone. Also, she gave me lots of wonderful advice about courses and school work. During the transition, she tried her best to keep me company and care for me to make sure I was not being overwhelmed which I cannot thank her enough for. She offered me more than guidance, assistance, and most importantly: friendship.
