Data Analyst Intern
- My title was a Data Analyst Intern for Vig Home Invesments.
- My goals included researching and understanding primary market data and evaluation pertaining to real estate investors. Retrieve & clean up data for use in consumer facing application. Also, creating the first iteration of a dashboard for consumers to use in order to see market statistics and key indicators.
- The original challenges was managing and showcasing 8 years worth of data for every zip code in the country, and then being able to provide an interactive solution for consumers to self-research. I used MySQL and pulled data from Realtor.com and tested out various different softwares to create a dashboard. The dashboard was a way to formulate all the data and showcase it for future investors. I decided to use Zoho Analytics to create a dashboard and added specific features that filters data based on State, City, and Zip code.
- This internship was very knowledgeable and helped to gain more experience in the data analytical field. It relates a previous MIS class I took called Data and Analytics where we analyzed different data sets from MySQL to support applications. MIS professionals help to analyze data from multiple online systems and helps in management decision making. The internship relates to the major of MIS because data analysis helps fuel the integration of information to help meet the needs of business and enterprises.
