Academic History

Upon graduating high school, I had a very strong interest in pursuing a degree in Psychology, but after my first semester I came to the conclusion that it just was not for me. I felt that I was not being challenged enough and that my potential was not fully being utilized. It was then that spring semester of my freshman year that I researched what Temple University had to offer me. I was drawn to the major of Management Information Systems (MIS) because of its basic definition. In a nutshell, MIS is the study of how individuals, groups, and organizations evaluate, design, implement, manage, and utilize systems to generate information to improve efficiency and effectiveness of decision making, including systems termed decision support systems, expert systems, and executive information systems. Through my experience as a Resident Assistant, I saw this as the perfect fit and I have been happy ever since. Though the classes are challenging, I feel that I am given an upper hand in that I am being prepared for what I will be doing in the corporate world.
