IT Project Manager Intern
Over the summer, I worked as an IT Project Manager intern at Main Line Health. MLH has several hospitals and healthcare facilities across the Philadelphia area, and I worked in their corporate office. This experience gave me the chance to explore behind-the-scenes technology that keeps healthcare and hospitals running– from visiting MLH Lankenau and Paoli Hospitals to seeing demos of newly implemented systems, and even visiting the Pennovation Center. I had the opportunity to gain exposure to many different aspects of project management. I attended numerous meetings that gave me insights into the variety of projects the IT Project Managers were leading, and I also contributed to smaller projects of my own. This allowed me to develop a broad perspective on what it’s like to work as a PM. Some of my projects were:
– Consolidating a 130+ question technical screening questionnaire and collaborating with the IS, GRC, and AI teams to refine it
– Pulling infrastructure data to support vendor consulting teams in preparing for their cloud migration journey
– Leading a project to find a way to track blood bank coolers in the hospitals
