Consultant
- Over the summer and into the school year I worked as a “consultant” for a small online start-up called Localmember.co. Spawned from the fact that many small businesses were beginning to struggle due to the coronavirus, the goal of this organization was to connect local consumers to small businesses across the city of Philadelphia. Throughout my time working for this organization we created an online directory featuring almost 1,000 small businesses from restaurants to boutiques and pet stores. Using WordPress, I was responsible for making the web pages for these businesses and posts highlighting special features each business had. I also created specialized blog posts in collaboration with local bloggers in Philadelphia themed around certain areas. Some of these specialized posts include “Outdoor Dining in Manayunk” and “Fall Hot Spots.” Throughout this internship I learned that, while it is great to have the technical skills needed to know how to do certain things, it is almost just as important to be creative and think outside the box when working for a small-start up.
