Experience

Time Warner Cable
Herndon, VA
June 2013 – August 2013

I was hired by Time Warner Cable for their Global Network Operations Center (GNOC) as a National Command & Communications (NCC) Intern.  Time Warner Cable is among the largest providers of video, high-speed data, and voice services in the United States, connecting more than 15 million customers.

As an intern I had a variety of jobs to fulfill.  I went through thorough training to handle real time service impacting issues using trouble tickets.  My main role would be to reach out to customers or vice versa and help troubleshoot the problem.  Using Granite, a database with site information from around the United States, and BMC Remedy, Time Warner Cable’s ticket management software, I would be able to inform regional technicians the cause of impact.  I would then update the existing ticket and if required send dispatch to site.

I also had many other jobs including consolidation project on job aids, updated and improved Business Continuity Management (BCM) plan and Disaster Recovery (DR) plan using SharePoint.  Also, assisted in bridge calls by scribing.

What I enjoyed most about Time Warner Cable is the culture and environment.  The entire company was on the same page and everyone was always willing to help.  I had the opportunity to have lunch with the Senior VP of the GNOC who later introduced me to the VP of Wireless department.  This experience was more then I had ever imagined and motivated me to continue to put myself out there.  I’ve learned many lessons including be prepared for any task and do not be afraid to ask questions.  One can never know what they never try.

ICSN group
Corona, CA
June 2011 – August 2011

I spent three months interning at International Contract Manufacturing-Services Network (ICSN) stationed in Corona, California.  My main function at the company was to work with the project manager on current and future projects.  This included making presentations on these projects on how they can compare the sales volume with the profit margin using Excel and Powerpoint.  I also created invoices for incoming orders.  Another one of my jobs was to take pictures of products and sent them via e-mail to the customers or engineers.  Current projects would require manual fixing and packaging of single-touch monitors for shipment.  I also ended up traveling with the Project Manager and two partners to China, Taiwan, and South Korea.  There I had to take notes during the business meetings with potential business partners to keep track of what occurred and how it went about.  During my travels I visited ICSN headquarters located in South Korea to see how they ran the business differently.  ICSN group is a member of “Inc. 5000,” recognizing them as one of the most influential business clubs in America as a fast growing private company.  This job was the most eye opening experience I have ever encountered.

Pac-A-Deli

Philadelphia, PA

June 2005 – Present

I spent about 11 years working at Pac-A-Deli in Center City Philadelphia.  My main job there was to handle and stock inventory throughout the store.  I was a cashier and provided customer service for about 500 customers per shift.  Also, I helped create inventory lists and advertising promotions using Excel and Photoshop.  This job was the most valuable work experience in my life because I believe I learned my values and ethics in this small convenient deli located on 12th & Walnut St.
