Intro to Data Analytics: Tableau Basics
This webinar went over some of the basic uses for Tableau and showed us how to use data from an excel sheet to create visuals. The instructor used a data set of CO2 emissions per year within each country to create 3 types of charts with us. These included a color-based map where each color represented different levels of emissions, a line chart of emissions over the years per continent, and a bar graph of emissions per continent. I learned how to import excel sheets, assign the data to X and Y axes, and I learned how to make data sets visually appealing. He went over how to accomplish these visuals step by step and had us install Tableau to follow along. This webinar was really interesting to me because an internship I am applying for wants students with Tableau knowledge. I believe by attending this I was able to add an important skill to my professional toolkit.
