How to Build a Resume for Cybersecurity Roles

The event was a webinar focused on tailoring your resume to a cyber role. The event was sponsored by Cyber Connexion and The Fields Institute. I attended as a student and upcoming grade, interested in tailoring my resume accordingly. I learned that linux, bash scripting, powershell, networking protocols, and scripting languages (C/C++ and Rust) are skills most in demand in today’s cyber job market. AI and machine learning is also an important skill that could differentiate my resume. I also learned some resume strategies such as tailoring my resume to the specific job (comprehensive resumes are usually ineffective). The job posting will dictate what I should include in my resume: expertise, experience, etc. The experience most relevant to the job posting should be at the top, even if its not the most salient experience.  Also, completing personal projects is a great way to gain experience.  The sponsor also listed their offerings (the majority of the event).
