The API used here is from CoinDesk.com. This API could be used in a variety of applications that are used to track Bitcoin prices. For example, financial institutions could have an application using this API to chart out the price over a period of time. By tracking the prices the institutions will be able to make more informed decisions about Bitcoin’s true value.
