Walmart IBIT Event
In Spring of 2016, I attended a small group event presented by Walmart and IBIT. This event was one of my first exposures to the MIS program as I had just recently switched into the major from Legal Studies when I attended this event. This event allowed me to network with industry professionals and find out just what the expectations of one of the leading companies in the world was for their interns. That was extremely helpful for me because it allowed me to discover what standards I needed to set for myself if I wanted to pursue a career in this field. Because of what I learned from this event, I think it would be a great experience for MIS students to attend any event they can where they get to hear directly from a company on what they look for and expect in their interns (and ultimately, in this employees).
